Holders of Congresbury was established over 50 years ago as a
family business and has been known over the years for its extensive
choice of used cars ranging from Minis to Bentleys. The site, situated
on the A370 Weston to Bristol Road, has been home to some sort of motor
business since before World War II.
The garage is well known throughout the area and used to be one of
the largest outside Bristol, it has represented many different vehicle
franchises over the years. There was a long association with Rover up
until 1996 when the manufacturer decided to reorganise its distribution
network to concentrate on urban locations.
Holders still specialises in the repair and servicing of Rover cars
and remains a Unipart Car Care Centre which enables the Service Department
to offer "All Makes" repairs and servicing, sourcing the necessary spare
parts and technical data required to carry out a first class job at a
Holders long established place in the community has been preserved
with the investment in its new premises. The smart appearance of the
building complements the surrounding area.
Holders managing director Rex Jeffrey said:

Holders employs a staff of less than 25, most having been with
the company for many years and experiencing the changes the business
has been through.
