History

Holders of Congresbury was established over 50 years ago as a family business and has been known over the years for its extensive choice of used cars ranging from Minis to Bentleys. The site, situated on the A370 Weston to Bristol Road, has been home to some sort of motor business since before World War II.

The garage is well known throughout the area and used to be one of the largest outside Bristol, it has represented many different vehicle franchises over the years. There was a long association with Rover up until 1996 when the manufacturer decided to reorganise its distribution network to concentrate on urban locations.

Holders still specialises in the repair and servicing of Rover cars and remains a Unipart Car Care Centre which enables the Service Department to offer "All Makes" repairs and servicing, sourcing the necessary spare parts and technical data required to carry out a first class job at a competitive price.

Holders long established place in the community has been preserved with the investment in its new premises. The smart appearance of the building complements the surrounding area.

Holders managing director Rex Jeffrey said: "We are known as a garage which makes a genuine effort to provide good service and value for money"."This is something we are committed to and the Seat franchise, coupled with the improvements we have made to our premises, will provide us with the products and facilities to continue serving the community well into the new millennium."

Holders employs a staff of less than 25, most having been with the company for many years and experiencing the changes the business has been through.
